These lighter inserts ship without fuel. You have to fill it for the first time with lighter fluid. There is no case included and they won't work without a case because they do not self extinguish.

Modifications include:•Packed with pure Mongolian camel hair wadding. This is because the ultra-fine, hollow fibers enable it to absorb 33% more fluid than cotton and then hold it in with a much slower rate of evaporation. It consistently delivers a smooth burn and a strong flame that doesn't flicker.
•To further mitigate evaporation, there is a metal bottom plate that is sealed with rubber gaskets. It has a spring loaded fuel filling port as well as a place for storing extra flint.
•A pure cotton core wick that is thick and long is used because it ignites easily and burns large and steady. It contains no unnecessary fiberglass or copper wire.
•A high ignition grinding wheel is integrated. The aggressive, toothed wheel surrounds a brass bushing that is perfectly retro. It gives a little play, allowing a slight wobble that is anti-jamming and makes for a smooth striking action. (This is not available on the regular snuffer inserts)
•A soft flint reduces wear and creates a huge spark that lights with every strike. It is extra long so there more time between change outs.
•They are assembled using hollow wheel rivets that match the metal and give the lighter a vintage look.
•A stainless steel pendulum adds some flair, strengthens the cam, and prevents rust.
•The cam spring is what gives the lighter that distinctive “clink”, so installed is a period dated, powerful humped back spring. The lid flies open with noticeable force and closes with authority. It keeps the lid tightly closed, allowing less gas to escape through the wick. (This is not available on the regular snuffer inserts)
•Included is a universal lighter tool, extra gaskets, wicks, camel hair, and flints that are stored in a tiny brass container.
