A charcoal starter, typically a chimney-style device, is used to light charcoal efficiently and safely without the need for lighter fluid, which can impart unwanted flavors into your food and is considered less safe; it allows for even heat distribution by lighting the coals uniformly, resulting in a quicker and cleaner start to your grill fire.
Finished in raw steel or in flat black ceramic coating.
For raw steel finish, we recommend wiping down lightly with oil after use to maintain a natural look and prevent rust. Over time, the oil coating will "season" your charcoal starter just like your cast iron pans!
Ceramic coating is industrial grade. It can withstand 1800 degrees Fahrenheit for a long lasting, rust-resistant finish. The ceramic coating is rust resistant, not rust proof. Ceramic is an anti-corrosion coating that significantly limits rusting. However, prolonged contact/submersion in water can result in localized rusting (particularly the welded areas). This rust will not impact the performance nor shorten the life of the charcoal starter. Just remove the rust with normal washing and towel dry prior to storing.
Larger holes on left and right for easier lighting. Spring handle for easier handling. Larger area at bottom for improved air flow, and a canted handle mounted lower for easier dumping.
These are cut out and built per order in Texas. Therefore, a 2-3 day handling time is required.
